Stars fall in front
Of a backdrop filled with ink.
As if on cue,
They start to sing
The night's most melodic
Lullaby.
Hanging on strings,
Loosely swinging in the sky,
These figures seem to play
The most melodic
Lullaby.
Little lights
Attached to a thread of mine
Softly touch my head
Above a stage I dare to dream,
Over a quite small bed.
In the safest of places,
I stare in wonder
Of the swathe of stars
Placed on a simple canvas.
To You,
It is something
That can fit inside your hands.
To me,
It is something
That puts on a show,
A play,
For me instead.
Stardust sweeps the floor,
Where galaxies
Say their lines.
